Welcome!
The Meadows Home for Special Care is a 105 single room not-for-profit licensed nursing care and people centered facility located in the town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Our home offers 24-hour support to residents who require nursing care, supervision, or assistance with their activities of daily living. Our inter-disciplinary care team, including health care professionals and support services, work together to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social needs of each resident who lives with us using a “resident centered” approach.
Our modern, home-like facility was built in 2011, and consists of nine residential style houses complemented by larger indoor and outdoor spaces. Our facility offers amenities such as a hair salon, group activity rooms and a rehab gym. There are 11-12 rooms per house and residents enjoy the privacy of their own room. Each house has its own open-concept kitchen/dining/living room that offers access to landscaped courtyards and a walking path that encircles the grounds.
We have approximately 250 multi-disciplinary employees who “enrich the lives of our residents every day” and who support our residents "living well in a place they can call home". Check out our pictures and services. Residents are encouraged to bring a few decorative and personal items to personalize their room.
